The Girls are Back in the Nets

Summer might seem a million miles away right now, but today (Sunday 11 November) marked the first day back in training for the Warwickshire Women’s squads. Captain Marie Kelly rounded up the troops as they set about putting in the hard yards with coaches Darren Franklin and Errol Simms, ahead of an exciting summer for the Bears.

Once again Warwickshire Women will be playing their home fixtures at the Edgbaston Foundation Sports Ground and the skipper hopes that having a regular home will help the Bears on their way to winning some silverware in the 2017 season.

Despite this being the women’s first time back in training since the end of the season in August, the girls already look very sharp and the new recruits from the Academy & EPP also looked at home and part of the solid fraternity that is developing within the Bears ranks.

The Women’s squad will be bolstered in the new year when many of the team return from international duties, however Marie and the rest of the girls won’t be waiting around as they seem determined to start the 2017 season with a bang.
