Making a final is the kind of thing you dream of as a kid. Everyone in the dressing room has worked tremendously hard and made a lot of sacrifices to put us in this position.

Eoin Morgan, England T20 Captain

England have reached the ICC World T20 Final after their impressive seven-wicket victory over New Zealand and they will now face West Indies in Sunday’s final. Jason Roy hit a superb 44-ball 78 as England reached the target in 17.1 overs against the Blackcaps.

England will now face the West Indies who knocked out the hosts India in a nail-biting semi-final fixture that went down to the last few balls.

The Windies upset has now set the stage for incredible final. Who will be crowned the new World T20 Champions, will it be Eoin Morgan or Darren Sammy lifting the trophy? At Edgbaston we’re obviously behind team England and we’re hoping that the boys can bring the World T20 Trophy home. Come on England!

Competition Time

To celebrate England reaching the ICC World T20 Final, we’re giving away a pair of tickets for the England v Sri Lanka Royal London ODI at Edgbaston on Friday 24 June. You can see the world finalists in action as Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Eoin Morgan and the rest of the England side aim to beat their record of 408-runs in ODI cricket they hit here at Edgbaston last summer.

To have a chance of winning, simply answer which team will be crowned champions on Sunday and who will be Man of the Match. To enter our competition, please click here and complete the short survey and we will select one winner at random who gets both questions correct. Good luck!

We came on a mission inspired by the under-19s and the ladies. Now we have two West Indies teams in the final and I know that means a lot to the Caribbean.

Darren Sammy, West Indies T20 Captain

Windies silence the Mumbai crowd in style

The other semi-final was a much closer affair with West Indies edging passed host nation India to seal their place in Sunday’s final. India looked to be in total control after Virat Kholi struck an unbeaten 89 and guided India to an impressive 192-2 in their 20 overs. India then took full control with two early wickets as Gayle and Samuels fell cheaply and with the Windies on 19-2 they had a mountain to climb.

However, Johnson Charles hit 52 of 36 deliveries to get Darren Sammy’s men back on track. Lendl Simmons’ Man of the Match performance stun the home crowd in Mumbai as he hit an unbeaten 82 of 51 balls. It was Andre Russell who won it with a six with two balls to spare to round off a famous victory for the Windies. Surely one of the best T20 games we have witnessed in a long while!
