Warwickshire all-rounder Chris Woakes stole the show at Lord’s for England in the first Investec Test Match by claiming six Pakistan wickets.

Woakes (27) was the pick of the England attack on day one by taking four wickets, but went on to take his first Test Match five-fer with the scalp of Sarfraz Ahmed this morning.

Two balls later he removed Wahab Riaz to become the first Warwickshire bowler since Bob Willis in 1982 to take six wickets in a Test Match at Lord’s.

After missing out on selection for the first Investec Test Match of the summer against Sri Lanka, Woakes was called in to the squad for the second Test at Headingley following his career-best nine for 36 against Durham in the Specsavers County Championship.

Since returning to Alastair Cook’s Test team, he has taken 14 wickets at an average of 15.71.
