A total of 150 people were in attendance for a celebration of women’s sport, held at Edgbaston Stadium on Wednesday 27 May.
The event, being run for the first time, was free to all attendees.
Hosted by Warwickshire Bears ahead of the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup that lands in Birmingham next month, the day started with a networking session which also gave those attending an opportunity to see the World Cup trophy whilst finding out more about their fellow sports professionals.
Following that, four workshops were offered to the 150 that attended.
Kate Hannon from the Women’s Sport Collective hosted a session on Networking, Warwickshire Cricket Nutritionist, Racel Chesters, covered the topic of Nutrition in her workshop, Michelle Dorgan from the Union of Sport spoke about Allyship, and MAAREE, an independent sports bra brand, hosted a workshop on Breast Health and Sports Bras.
To conclude the day, there were further opportunities to network whilst watching a thrilling T20 Vitality Blast game between Warwickshire Bears and The Blaze.
Paige Eagle, Warwickshire County Cricket Club Marketing Executive, said: “It was a fantastic day, and it was a true celebration of women’s sport and the people that help to make it a success.
“We have to thank those that gave up their time to host the workshops which were incredibly valuable, and to those that attended.
“It’s a huge couple of months for women’s sport, and particularly cricket in Birmingham, with the first game of the T20 Women’s World Cup taking place here.
“We’re grateful that so many people turned out to support this event, at an important time for sport in the city.”
