Sandwell College

Sandwell College can trace its roots back to the 1840s when Chance Brothers glass makers established a technical school on Spon Lane, West Bromwich.

The present day college is now a family of college which includes Sandwell College, Tomorrow’s People, Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form College and Cadbury Sixth Form College.

The College has more than 6,600 16 to 18 year olds and is the largest deliverer of education and training to the age group in the West Midlands. Alongside, 4000+ adult learners and several hundred apprentices learn at the college and community venues, including Edgbaston Stadium.

The College’s mission is to provide, develop and deliver an education of the highest quality and training programmes that help to improve life chances and economic prosperity.

Partnership in action

Our partnership with Sandwell College underlines one of their future objectives to diversify and grow to benefit as many people as possible in the communities it serves.

As part of the agreement includes the deliverance of a further education course designed to support a career in professional sport at Edgbaston.

The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development (equivalent to three A-levels) is for anyone passionate about sport. Students have the opportunity to access multiple careers within the professional sports industry following the programme, with cricketing opportunities to be had at the world class facilities at Edgbaston.
