E-Cups

Edgbaston understands how important sustainability is and reducing our carbon footprint. Reusable e-cups have therefore been in place at Edgbaston since 2016.

Spectators will pay a £1 deposit for their e-cup with their first drink. Every subsequent drink will be poured into a clean e-cup and when the spectator has finished drinking, return it to an e-cup refund point in exchange for their deposit throughout the day.

Please note, a maximum of 10 cups can be refunded at one time. Must be aged 18 or over.

Cups can be returned to our designated e-cup refund points and can be returned regularly throughout the day, to help avoid congestion at the end of play.

Our new sustainability initiative

At Edgbaston we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment. As part of our ongoing efforts to promote sustainability, we are introducing a small charge of 50p for our four-cup carriers. This change is designed to reduce our cardboard consumption and minimise waste.

Why we’re making this change

Environmental Impact: By charging for four-cup carriers, we aim to significantly reduce the amount of cardboard used. Less cardboard means fewer trees cut down and less waste in landfills.

Encouraging Reuse: A small charge encourages customers to think twice before taking a new carrier. We hope this will promote the reuse of carriers and other sustainable practices.

Cost Transparency: The nominal fee reflects the true cost of producing and disposing of these carriers. It helps us maintain transparency about the environmental and economic costs associated with single-use items.

Your support is crucial in helping us achieve our sustainability goals. By opting to reuse carriers or paying a small fee for new ones, you are playing an essential role in reducing waste and protecting the environment.
