Amir showing real promise

Amir graduated from the Bears Academy in 2022 to secure a professional contract, having originally joined the club at the Under 10s age group.

A left-handed batter who can bowl right and left-arm finger spin, Amir, a former student at Cockshut Hill School, Yardley, represents Knowle & Dorridge in the Birmingham League, having moved from Sheldon-Marlborough CC where his cricketing journey began.

He was the Bears’ second top run scorer in the 2nd XI in 2023 with 464 at an average of 42.18. That included two centuries, and he smashed the side’s most 4s with 67.

He underlined his talent by making a Second XI century aged 15.

“Amir has made hundreds in our Second XI from as young as 15-years-old and has incredible potential to move beyond this rookie contract. We’re thrilled he has taken this initial step towards what will hopefully be a long career as a Bear.”
