Barney commits to the Bears
Warwickshire Vice Captain Ed Barnard committed his future to the Club ahead of the 2025 season by agreeing a new long-term contract.
Barnard signed a two-year extension until the end of the 2027 campaign, with an option for an additional third year.
The 29-year-old allrounder has impressed since making the Midlands move from neighbours Worcestershire ahead of the 2023 season.
By the end of 2024, he’d racked up 1,322 runs (ave 35.72) for Warwickshire in the County Championship – taking him past 5,000 career red ball runs – and claimed 54 wickets, including two five-fers.
“I’m really pleased with how the last two years have gone. It’s a great group of lads, very competitive, they play the game in the right way but get on well off the pitch.”
