Hungry to be back

After an excellent start to his first-team career, the older Brookes brother has suffered a couple of years of injury frustration. The good news is that he is back in the mix and hungrier than ever for first-team cricket.

Solihull-born, and a product of the Edgbaston system, Henry had already impressed for England Under 19s when he was given his championship bow in 2017.

In 2018 he took brilliantly to sustained first-class cricket, showing the skill and temperament needed, along with a desire to excel for the Bears which endeared him to all the fans.

“Henry made a big impact across all three formats and demonstrated why he is being talked about as one of the most exciting, young fast bowlers the game. He has a huge future ahead of him with Warwickshire.”

The following year, with the seam department ravaged by injuries, Henry stood tall, delivering nearly 400 overs in all cricket, a display of sustained strength and excellence which earned a Lions call-up in the winter.

Then came those injuries and, while the Bears charged to the championship title last year, Henry was agonisingly kept out of the fray by a double injury blow.

In 2022, however, he is a man on a mission to make up for lost time.
