As a player, Westy was a true warrior. No-one was ever more Bears through and through and no-one was more braver or committed on the field.
Now he is putting those attributes into work behind the scenes to bring on the next generation of players.
Westy enjoyed a 15-year playing career, captaining the side and figuring in two championship title wins, before retiring in 2017.
He made a big impression in his first two years in the cricket management team by helping transition the next crop of talent from the Emerging Player Programme and Academy into the professional set-up. Last winter, he stepped up to become Second XI coach.
