Liz Russell Marie Kelly

Issy Wong

Role:
Bowler
DOB:
15 May 2002 (Age 21)

One of the brightest talents in the country right now.

Having been part of Knowle & Dorridge CC for several years, Issy became the first girl to make the Shrewsbury School senior team and, at just 17, was selected to be part of the 12-player England Academy squad for 2019-20, featuring against Australia A last summer.

Her genuine pace, and X-factor makes her stand out from the crowd, says Tom Brown, as she became the youngest player in the Kia Super League in 2019, playing for Southern Vipers alongside Bears captain Marie Kelly.

Issy has also been selected to be part of the Birmingham Phoenix Hundred side and has the chance to showcase her raw talent to the world with some of the biggest names in the women’s game.

As well as being a crucial part of the victorious 2019 Birmingham Bears T20 team, Issy also played her final age group cricket and bowled the last over and took the winning wicket in the under 17s national final; her most precious memory yet she claims.
