A graduate of the University of Derby, he spent two years as S&C coach at the Derbyshire Institute of Sport where he worked with teams and individual athletes across a range of sports including rugby union, badminton, basketball, swimming, athletics and golf.
His move into cricket came at Derbyshire where he spent just over three years as S&C coach with the Emerging Players Programme and age groups before joining the Bears in November 2016.
