One of our longest standing Bears, Marie has represented Warwickshire throughout all the age groups through to now captain of the women. An opening batter that is one of the most consistent performers in the country.

Marie has been a part of the Emerging Players Programme, Women’s Academy and the Warwickshire Men’s Academy. During this she was also part of the England U19 Development Programme where she made her debut against Sri Lanka Women in 2013. She has also represented England U19 in a tour to South Africa as well as touring Abu Dhabi with the MCC.

Her cricketing highlight was becoming national T20 champions in 2019, leading by example and top-scoring in their must-win final game against Lancashire to secure victory for her side. It was an incredible season for Marie, not only being the leader run-scorer for her beloved Bears, but also claiming the top run-scorer for the country, resulting in her being voted ‘players player’ at the conclusion of the season.

Her best performance for Warwickshire was scoring 201* off 145 balls for Warwickshire U17 against Cheshire, followed by 110* the next day in a T20 against Worcestershire.

Her success for her country also led to being selected for different sides throughout the Kia Super League, firstly for Loughborough Lightning in 2017, where she completed her degree in Sport Science, and then to Southern Vipers in 2019. As a result of consistent performances she was selected to be part of the Birmingham Phoenix Hundred side.

Being a bear to Marie is all about everyone pulling together and playing as a team, always being up for the fight, playing with pride and representing Warwickshire to the best of your ability.
