They make ’em tough in Halifax

Seam-bowler Olly joined Warwickshire from Yorkshire in 2013 and soon showed he is made of stern stuff by batting 78 minutes with a broken arm to save a game against Somerset at Taunton.

The following year he quickly came into his own in limited-overs cricket enjoying a great season in the Royal London One-Day Cup.

“He’s a very proud adopted Bear and I’m sure that many of our Members and supporters will be delighted that Olly will remain at Edgbaston until at least the end of the 2021 season.”

Olly helped Warwickshire to the Final at Lord’s and played a crucial part in the 2014 NatWest T20 Blast triumph.

In 2019, Olly really came to the fore in four-day cricket. At times the only fit senior seamer on the staff, he led the attack magnificently with 399 championship overs of intelligent and controlled seam-bowling delivered from the imposing height of 6ft 7in.

Already also influential as a coach of young players, OHD is a true all-rounder.
