A hot property

Hain is one of cricket’s hot properties. Aged 18, he broke Ian Bell’s record to became the youngest man to score a county championship century for Warwickshire and he has been breaking records for fun ever since.

Hong Kong-born, but raised in Australia by English parents, Sam soon stated his desire to play for England and made a brilliant start to his Lions career with a century on his debut against West Indies A.

“It is such an honour to be capped and something I have been striving for a while. One of the reasons I have been playing is to try to get that white bear on my head.”

Batter

For the Bears he has become a linchpin of the batting in all formats. His white-ball stats are among the best in the world with a List A average touching 60 while his T20 batting – measured, skilful and violent – has seen the Bears to countless victories.

Hain’s red-ball skills are also considerable. He was top-scorer for the Bears as they lifted the County Championship title last year and it is only a question of when, and in which format first, that Hainy steps up to plays for England.
