Plan your trip to Edgbaston

We look forward to welcoming you to Edgbaston Stadium. The following information will help you plan your travel to Edgbaston and offer transport tips to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

But first, here are some top tips.

  • Plan your journey to and from Edgbaston and purchase your tickets in advance
  • Please leave the car at home and use public transport wherever possible, there are many great rail and public bus routes
  • Allow enough time for your journey and getting into the stadium, the surrounding area can be extremely busy near the start of the match
  • Gates usually open 2 hours before the start of play

Rail

Although the ‘Stay At Home’ rule ended on Monday 29 March, the latest Government advice continues to be that people should minimise the number of journeys they make.

With more people returning to rail, social distancing may not be possible on every journey. If you do need to travel, you should make every effort to avoid the busiest times and routes to help maintain social distancing – see below for advice on how to do this. By law you must wear a face covering on a train or at a station – some exemptions apply.

Government advice can change at short notice so please check the latest information before setting out.

By Car

Car parking at nearby sites is available to purchase for all major matches. But first, please do consider using public transport.

Car Parking

Matchday parking can be pre-booked at edgbaston.com at Edgbaston, subject to availability.

Please do not contemplate driving without first booking your car park space – there are only a limited number of spaces available and this will guarantee you a parking spot close to the stadium.

If you are attending an event on a non-matchday, limited on-site parking will be available free-of-charge.

Shuttle Bus

Shuttle Bus service will be available for selected fixtures in 2021. Please check the specific fixture Spectator Guide for more details about the match you are attending.

The 501 Shuttle Bus pick-up point is located from right outside New Street Station on Smallbrook Queensway (opposite TK Maxx and close to the Bullring). The service is convenient for users of both New Street and Moor Street Train Stations.

Buses will be running back from the stadium to the city centre after the close of play.

A return journey on the shuttle bus service is available for just £5 for adults and £3.50 for children. You can pre-book your ticket online at edgbaston.com or you can purchase on the day.

Public Buses

There are regular local buses to the ground from south-west Birmingham and the city centre. National Express buses 45 and 47 have services between the city centre and Pershore Road which is a 2-minute walk to the ground.

More information on local buses can be found online at nxbus.co.uk.
