Plan your trip to Edgbaston

We look forward to welcoming you to Edgbaston Stadium. The following information will help you plan your travel to Edgbaston and help make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

But first, here are some top tips.

  • Plan your journey to and from Edgbaston and purchase your tickets in advance.
  • Please leave the car at home and use public transport wherever possible, there are many great rail and public bus routes.
  • Have your e-ticket ready via the Edgbaston app.
  • Allow enough time for your journey and getting into the stadium, the surrounding area can be extremely busy near the start of the match.
  • Road closures will be in place at our Major Matches.

Get to the ground


Birmingham has great public transport links and we strongly recommend that you consider public transport so that you can make the most of your day with us.

Birmingham New Street Station is the main rail hub for the city with connections from all over the country. There are regular trains to Manchester and London, with a journey time under 90 minutes. We recommend that you book your tickets in advance.

A Shuttle Bus service from National Express will be available from New Street Station to Edgbaston Stadium on all Major Matches and selected Vitality Blast match days.


By Rail

Birmingham New Street Station is the main rail hub for the city with connections from all over the country.


Shuttle Bus

We run a Shuttle Bus service with National Express from the City Centre to Edgbaston for all Major Matches.


By Bike

Edgbaston Stadium is easy to get to by bike with both the Rea Valley Route and A38 (Bristol Road) cycle routes close by.


By Car

Car parking at nearby sites is available to purchase for all Major Matches. But first, please do consider using public transport.

Car Parking

We encourage all spectators attending a fixture this summer to leave the car at home and use public transport. There’s lots of great rail and bus links within Birmingham and the local area.

If you plan to travel by car, parking can be pre-booked for our Major Match, Vitality Blast and The Hundred fixtures at, subject to availability.

Please do not travel without first booking your car park space. There are only a limited number of spaces available and this will guarantee you a parking spot close to the stadium.

No car parking will be available to purchase for our County Championship and One-Day Cup fixtures. Pay and display parking spaces can be accessed at Queen’s Ride, across the road from Edgbaston, by the MAC at Cannon Hill Park.

Accessible parking for Blue Badge holders will be available and spaces are required to be reserved in advance online at

If you are attending an event on a non-matchday, limited on-site parking will be available free-of-charge. Please speak to your event organiser for more information.


Shuttle Bus

Shuttle Bus service will be available for selected fixtures, including all Major Matches and The Hundred fixtures.

The 501 Shuttle Bus pick-up point is located from right outside New Street Station on Smallbrook Queensway (opposite TK Maxx and close to the Bullring). The service is convenient for users of both New Street and Moor Street Train Stations.

Buses will be running to and from the stadium and City Centre before play starts and after the close of play.

A day pass on the shuttle bus service is available for just £5 for adults and £3.50 for children.


Road Closures

To ensure the safety of spectators attending our busier match days, we will have road closures in place on Edgbaston Road, from A441 junction to Cannon Hill Road. We will have road closures in place on the following dates:

England v Pakistan, Women’s IT20, 11 May – two hours before (12.30pm-2.30pm) and after play finishes.
England v Pakistan, Men’s IT20, 25 May – two hours before (12.30pm-2.30pm) and after play finishes.
England v West Indies, Men’s Test, 26-30 July – two hours before (9am-11am) and after play finishes.
The Hundred fixtures, August – two hours before start of play and after play finishes.
Vitality Blast Finals Day, 14 September – two hours before (9am-11am) and after play finishes.

Road closures are subject to change.


Public Buses

There are regular local buses to the ground from south-west Birmingham and the City Centre. National Express buses 45 and 47 have services between the City Centre and Pershore Road which is a 2-minute walk to the ground.
