Warwickshire Pathway

The Warwickshire County Cricket Club Academy was one of the first licensed ECB Academies, granted back in 2001.

Since then it has existed to develop and extend the talent from within the Warwickshire county age group (CAG) pathway, in order that the County Club can hit some of its sporting objectives.

The Emerging Player Programme (EPP) is a group of players selected from CAG cricket, mainly from U14 to U18 age groups, with flexibility at either end.

The Academy is selected from the more senior CAG squads, with most attention focused on the U16 to U18 age groups.

We understand that players develop at different rates in different facets of the game, so it is important that selection is fluid, open minded and also appreciates that development does not finish at 18.

Both the EPP and Academy programmes deliver a 12-month holistic programme developing technical, tactical, mental, physical and lifestyle skills through training, match play, overseas camps and classroom based tasks.

Warwickshire are able to call upon some highly qualified full and part-time members of staff, including all of the professional coaching and support staff, who involve themselves as far down the pathway as is logistically possible.
