Report: Warwickshire v Glamorgan, 2nd XI Championship
Warwickshire and Glamorgan had to settle for a draw after rain took out half of the allotted time in their four-day 2nd XI Championship opener at Portland Road.
The loss of the whole of the second and third days’ play turned the game into a one-innings-per-side contest.
The Bears totalled 287 in their innings, having been pulled round from 175 for seven by an eighth-wicket stand of 93 in 25 overs by Olly Stone (89 not out, 143 balls, 12 fours) and Amir Khan (41, 82 balls, four fours, one six).
Glamorgan then replied with 270 for seven on the final day. They reached a healthy 172 for two but were then reeled back in as Jake Lintott took three for 57 and Tommy Rex delivered an excellent 15-8-13-2.
England paceman Stone, on his way back from long-term injury, continued his progress towards full fitness with 7-2-9-0.
